The D270 is powered by a 1.6 GHz Atom N2600 processor and features a 10.1-inch display, 1GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. Two versions are available: a three-cell battery version for 250 euros ($324 USD) and a six-cell battery version for 69 euros ($348 USD).
On December 28, Intel announced that it has started shipping its third generation N-series Atom processors.
The processors are built to the Cedar Trail architecture based on Intel's 32nm process (Sandy Bridge) technology.
The architecture puts the CPU and GPU on the same silicon chip and features improvements in graphics capabilities including Blu-ray 2.0 support, a dedicated media engine for full 1080p playback and additional digital display options including HDMI output and DisplayPort.
The platform's power management features provide the potential to improve performance and battery life by 20 percent compared to previous generation.
Netbooks based on this platform offer up to 10 hours of battery life, weeks of standby and full 1080p high-definition video
